Boxed Holiday Ornament A TOKEN OF LOVE - Extending a Hand in Friendship

Just a short time ago, a lovely girl I knew passed away suddenly.  Her mother was griefstricken and shut out the world, not wanting to speak to anyone.  I knew it would take time for her to heal but I also wanted to let her know that I was thinking of her.  This is what prompted me to create this small ornament.

Starting with a porcelain hand, I covered the piece in ribbons and lace.  I then added some gold glitter stars, a hand sewn French Revival ribbon rose and a gold cord so that the piece might be hung.  Taking a brown kraft paper box, I embellished the top with paper, more gold glitter stars, a repro die cut of violets and the sentiment "A TOKEN OF LOVE."  To make the piece even more appealing, I lined the inside of the box with cream silk and placed a small poem on the underside of the lid touching on the theme of my extending a hand in friendship.  In closing, I added vintage taupe rayon ribbon which could be tied in a bow.  

The ornament measures 2-1/4" long; the box measures 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" and is 1-1/4" deep.  Limited edition piece - I know I do not have many more of the porcelain hands.
