2 Antique Victorian Trade Card for J&P Coats Thread - Lady & Gent Fishing
C.1880 or so, here's a pair of Victorian era trade cards - one blank with a cropped top edge; the other, full sides, for J&P Coats Threads - sold at the Charles F. Sprague Dry Goods emporium. The image to both cards is the same, that of a lady sitting on a blanket with a sewing basket beside her (filled with thread, of course) and her gentleman friend just landing a trout in the stream. An 1880 calendar is on the backs of each. Both cards are very nice with no problems I can spot (other than the top missing edge on the unprinted card). Publisher is Donaldson Brothers, Five Points, N.Y. Size is: 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" approx.
