Repurposed Antique Victorian Christmas Greeting Card - Forget Me Not
Dating to the late 1890s or so, here's an Antique Victorian greeting card that needed a few touches to make useable. The front cover is colored blue/yellow and gold and bears the sign FORGET ME NOT (lots of florals to the front). Open the cover to view the first page which bears the notation A HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A BRIGHT NEW YEAR. Turn to the next page to view a small poem by Antony Templemore. Now as to the upcycling. Well, the card was split in two so a new backboard was added and then the cover and pages were attached utilizing glue and the scalloped Dresden gold border you can spot on the front cover and inside back page. A gold Dresden Santa was added to the first page as well as a bit of gold glitter to cover the holes where the original ribbon ties were placed.
Size of the card is 4-1/2" high x 3" wide. I think it turned out rather well - would look nice in a display case. Comes with a paper envelope.
