Made in Italy Italian Tole Tray - Handpainted Florals on Black Background

Purchased by me in Los Angeles, CA about 35 years ago, may I offer this Italian-made (Florentine?) handpainted (in oils) pressed wood tray - handpainted tole serving tray. The wood is covered in a layer of gesso and then painted, first in the bronze gold background coloring you see and then overlaid with a black background to the central design. Featuring a hand painted design of flowers to the front in colors of red, pink, blue, white and yellow, the tray does show a spot, here and there of shabby chic chippiness. The reverse of the tray is plain gold bearing an impressed Made in Italy stamp. Length of the tray is 14" x 9" wide. Lightweight piece. Nice overall condition with no real problems I can spot. A lovely display piece for any room you can think of.
