Handpainted Antique French Moire Taffeta Hanky Holder - Needs TLC

Picked up during my travels in Paris, here's a handpainted moire taffeta hanky or lingerie holder. In a pale pink, the front design of handpainted roses in absolutely delightful HOWEVER the holder does have issues. I purchased this piece in order to just frame the center image but maybe someone with a little more sewing experience than I could work a few wonders.

First, there is what appears to be a tape mark to the left front cover (as shown). Second while the outside cover is fairly clean, the inside cream silk shows light stains and shattering. Size of the piece is 9" x 7" approx when closed. Cord edge is intact but shows age related dustiness - same with the ribbon ties. Overall, a nice piece to display or repurpose into something more.
