Art Deco Handpainted Floral Wood Bookends Book Ends

Dating to the Art Deco era, here's a pair of hand painted bookends - book ends in an elegant romantic shabby chic style. The set might possibly have been made in Italy although manufacture in the US is not out of the question. The pieces are either formed from wood composite or barbola - it's hard to tell; felt bottoms on the base. The pieces were made in 2 sections and the joinder seam is apparent at the back of the pair. The front of each piece features a handpainted design of florals - flowers in a vase.  The sides feature leafy edges ending at the top with a carved floral. Overall coloring is gold with lots of brown/bronze tones with the color of the flowers adding the contrast The pair are 6" high - measurements at the base are 7-3/4" x 2-1/2".  Condition is terrific with shabby chippiness and old age kept to a minimum. Fabulous pieces!
