Art Deco German Mechanical Valentine - Horse Racing Jockey with Dog
Art Deco German Mechanical Valentine - Horse Racing Jockey with Dog
Dating to the 1920s or so, may I offer this Art Deco era mechanical high gloss Valentines Day card. The front of the card depicts a young boy dressed as a horse racing jockey holding up a heart sign to his dog (also dressed in horse racing garb). The hand of th eboy and the paw of the dog move back and forth meeting in a HIGH FIVE sign. Condition is very nice with a slight bend to the card due to its light cardboard nature. No tears, rips, stains, etc. - maybe a touch of edge wear to the piece but nothing that appears right away to the eye. Marked PRINTED IN GERMANY on the front cover; ink inscription to the reverse - To Edna Mae from Glennon Neel. Size is 4-1/4" wide x 6" high. Adorable and a hard style of card to find!
